The Grief Recovery Method

Brokenhearted, simply coping or just getting by, you know you need help; the good news is I can guide you each step of the way. Grief Recovery is an action program that has been developed and refined over the past 40 years, and this evidence-based program teaches you how to recover from loss and heal your broken heart.

Have you ever heard the saying “time will heal?” If you cut your leg open and blood was gushing out, would you get help to stop the bleeding? Of course you would. Being brokenhearted from the loss of a loved one is no different, but most people don’t think to stop the emotional bleeding. They push through hoping that time will heal, in fact, grief accumulates over time.

The Grief Recovery Method is designed to provide you with a series of small, sequenced steps that will lead you to completion of any unresolved grief. In a safe environment using specific tools, you can let go and ultimately lead a happier life. I offer in-person sessions in Prescott, AZ and remotely over Skype and Zoom.

So Much More than Bereavement

The emotions of loss are not exclusive to death. There are over 40 experiences that cause grief, such as:

  • – death of a loved one
  • – divorce
  • – end of addictions
  • – job changes
  • – moving
  • – health changes
  • – death of a pet
  • – loss of trust

In reality, grief can be caused by anything big or small. Unresolved grief is almost always about things we wish we could have said or done differently.

Signs of Unresolved Grief Include:

  • – preoccupation with memories
  • – tired, emotionally drained
  • – eating, sleeping pattern change
  • – pretending to be happy
  • – fond memories turn painful
  • – isolation, antisocial behavior

Over time the pain of unresolved grief is cumulative. Whether caused by a death, divorce, or other type of loss, incomplete recovery can have a lifelong negative impact on a person’s capacity for happiness. – The Grief Recovery Handbook

How does the Grief Recovery Method work?

You won’t be asked to do anything that I haven’t done myself. After the tragic death of my young family, the idea of being whole again was once laughable. I can assure you, transformation is possible. Grief is a natural reaction to loss, not a pathological condition or disorder. The work to be done isn’t anything that needs to be “fixed” – it’s moving through your grief and letting go of any emotional pain that is holding you back. We will meet for an hour each week, where I will hold a sacred space for you.

In 7 sessions you will:

  • * Learn how certain behaviors, if done for the wrong reasons, can have a negative impact.
  • * Understand what it is to become emotionally complete with all the things that did or did not happen.
  • * Learn how to communicate those unsaid words.
  • * Identify the losses and uncover what isn’t complete.
  • * Discover your unique beliefs about grief and learn of common myths.
  • * Be provided a safe environment for grief to present itself and be dealt with judgment-free.
  • * Be guided through concrete steps and learn specific tools to recover from loss.

If you are ready for change and transformation, I am here to support you.

Giving yourself this gift of healing, you will gain freedom from your broken heart, return to wholeness once more, and become emotionally complete.

Without action, there can be no change.

Your body holds deep wisdom. Trust in it. Learn from it. Nourish it. Watch your life transform and be healthy. – Bella Bleue
